Friends in the Akron community,
The Akron Area Interfaith Council and the Hunger Walk Committee, thank you for 16 years of overwhelming support of our annual Hunger Walk. We appreciate seeing all the various faith groups walking with us each year.
Once again, we are asking you to make year 17 the best. In 2025, between the Fairlawn Walk and the Stark County Walk, we contributed $31,459.53 to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. Which had a double impact during one of the Foodbank’s match campaigns, helping provide nearly over 188,000 meals! However, in 2025, the Foodbank and its network partners were affected by many state and federal budget cuts, resulting in challenges within the hunger relief network. Later in the year, neighbors in the community were affected by SNAP reductions and a pause in benefits. The Foodbank served more people than ever before in 2025. Despite the challenging times, the Foodbank and its hunger relief partners distributed over 42 million pounds of food to the community, made possible by the donations of food and funds by many people, businesses, and organizations like us.
Our hope is that you will give generously and walk with us this year in the 17th Annual Hunger Walk on May 3rd.

2021, 12th Annual AAIC Fairlawn Hunger Walk information (2021):
The efforts of our AAIC community and others who reached a little deeper last year enabled us to collect an amazing $36,496.42 that went directly to the Akron-Canton Regional Food bank. Unfortunately, we needed to redouble our efforts again in 2021 since there was a 31% increase in food insecure people in Summit Co. and a 44% increase in food insecure children.
